“Pastel Punks” is the name of Henry Holland’s Spring/Summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection, which was shown yesterday at London Fashion Week. One of my favourite names in fashion, I had the opportunity to meet the designer himself earlier this year, when he was in Dubai. At that time, his Fall/Winter 2011 multicoloured block print which I found resembled a child’s kaleidoscope was all the rage, but in my eyes, he really saved himself yesterday with a more quirky and youthful, but still wearable print.
Whether he drew inspiration from Dalmatians or cows, I’m really not quite sure, but combined with the soft pastel colour palette, it’s a print that works perfectly for the Spring/Summer season. Along with the jumpsuit pictured below, Holland’s models rocked pastel colour-blocked shirts and dresses, pastel plaid, python prints and light-washed denim.
