Diane von Furstenberg showed her Spring/Summer 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection yesterday at New York Fashion Week. The runway was a mix of sophisticated cuts and colours, muted pastels and vibrant floral prints. A few DVF jumpsuits graced the catwalk, and my favourite was a light green lace piece (pictured below, left). The slouchy silhouette, put together with a feminine fabric and plunging neckline is beautifully crafted, and the versatile garment can be worn out on a lunch date, or during the evening, with some accessories. Unfortunately, I found Diane’s other jumpsuits to be too bold and busy, and more suitable to wear while gardening than at a stylish gathering.
Since it was the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Diane ended her upbeat runway show by personally handing out small American flags to audience seated in the front row.
