The word “collaboration” rings bells for those of us who find a huge discrepancy between our desires for top brand-name clothing and the money we have in our wallets. Some successful past collections include Mulberry for Target, Lanvin for H&M, and Kate Moss for Topshop. Designers are after all, celebrities. And when a celebrity’s name is used alongside an affordable retailer’s, the world really becomes a better place for fashionistas on a budget– and those living in Canada now have a new celebrity collaboration to look forward to, which links none other than America’s Next Top Model’s Jay Manuel with Sears Canada.
On Tuesday, Sears Canada announced that fashion and television personality Jay Manuel will be the creative director for ATTITUDE- a new private label collection, which will consist of women’s apparel, handbags, shoes and accessories. Expect wide legged trousers, slim-fitting pencil skirts and stylish suits that can be taken from day to night. Sizes will range from 0-18, and prices from $13 – $140.
“The time is right to return home to Canada and bring all my worldly inspirations to a fashion line that empowers women,” said Manuel in a press release.
The fall/winter collection will be shown on March 30th, at Toronto’s LG Fashion Week. Keep checking Manuel’s personal blog—he will soon post a link where viewers can watch the show through live streaming!
On his blog, Manuel also revealed his hopes to take the line to the US within the next year.
