Jumpsuit of the Day: Topshop Unique at London Fashion Week

Topshop Unique F/W 2011 RTW at London Fashion Week

At the Topshop Unique Fall/Winter 2011 Ready-to-Wear runway show last month at London Fashion Week, Dalmatian-printed garments were spotted on the runway, including this steel-grey jumpsuit. The collection also featured a variety of other funky prints paired with various colours and textures.

This deep maroon jumpsuit gives off a quirky and youthful vibe, with its sleeveless top with a plunging V-neck, combined with a wide sash-like belt draped over her hips and knotted at the naval. The fabric appears to be a crepe-silk, and in movement, its diamond print shows hints of orange and purple shades. The free-spirited fashionista wearing this jumpsuit can definitely expect to turn heads for having a borderline diva-esque dress-sense.

Jumpsuit of the Day: Topshop Unique at London Fashion Week

Topshop Unique at London Fashion Week

The Topshop Unique Fall/Winter 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection was shown on February 20th at London Fashion Week. Though lots of models throughout fashion weeks in New York and Europe walked the runway robed in animal prints, Topshop designers took a unique spin to the trend and splattered dalmatian spots all over some of their garments. Models were even styled to look like cute, yet chic, pouting puppies!

This jumpsuit was featured in the collection, and could almost pass as a cheetah-printed piece. The steel-grey colour gives it edge, the baggy pants – high waist combo gives it an air of punk glamour, and the monochrome collar adds a school-girl touch. Black boots, gloves and a jacket complement the outfit perfectly.

Jumpsuit of the Day: Temperley London at London Fashion Week

Temperley London collection shown at London Fashion Week

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Temperley London brand, and to celebrate, designer Alice Temperley staged her Fall/Winter 2011 Ready-to-Wear runway show at the British Museum in London– a fashion week first! Models strutted their glamorous garments down the runway, and then struck statue-like poses at one side of the grand staircase. For her colour palette, Temperley combined harsh blacks and browns with soft neutral shades of white, and a few touches of red.  Fabrics were sheer, lace and silk, with a variety of textures and treatments.

Temperley combines a retro design with a bold, glittering gold and brown print to create this jumpsuit, suitable for both evening-wear and perhaps a night out at a lavish lounge. In many ways, the cut of this garment is very similar to a Topshop Unique design shown the same day in London.
